Contact Dermatitis in Older Adults
摘要
Contact dermatitis is a type IV hypersensitivity reaction that results from contact with an allergen; the disorder presents with a pruritic, eczematous rash. The distribution is common over areas where makeup, clothing, perfume, and nickel jewelry come into contact with the skin. It is important to identify any trigger or allergen that may have caused the dermatitis. Patch testing can be done to aid in diagnosis. Allergan avoidance is the best approach to management; the best initial treatment is topical glucocorticoids.
