Numerical Calculation of Energy Spectrum of GaAs-AlGaAs Quantum Well Having Abrupt Potential Steps Using Finite Difference Method

In this chapter, parametric variations of energy spectrum of GaAs-AlGaAs Quantum Well having abrupt potential steps are numerically calculated and depicted graphically as well as using tabulated values. Eigenvalue equation of energy has been numerically solved using finite difference method in this regard. The results are compared with those obtained using regula falsi method. The finite difference method has been introduced in advance; energy spectrum of GaAs-AlGaAs Quantum Well in infinitely deep well approximation has been calculated as a very simple illustration of finite difference method.
