Analysis of Fake News Narratives: Exercises

  • Tatiana Iskanderova

摘要

The chapter aims to serve as a practical bridge between theory and application by providing hands-on exercises for readers to refine their skills in recognizing and deconstructing deceptive narratives. Covering various approaches, such as Roland Barthes’s semiotic theory and analyses influenced by Charles William Morris, these exercises explore different aspects, offering a flexible toolkit to decode complex semiotic codes. Beyond theoretical comprehension, the goal is to deepen readers’ understanding, cultivate awareness, and develop a critical eye when encountering misleading information. Actively engaging with these exercises not only refines analytical skills but also builds a practical toolkit applicable beyond the chapter’s scope. This chapter encourages active participation in decoding deceptive narratives, aligning with the overarching objective of fostering media literacy and critical thinking in the face of misinformation.
