摘要

This concluding chapter revisits the key claims of the overall work. It summarises Reagan’s impact on American politics, policy-making, and popular culture. The extent of Reagan’s popularity at the time and more recently are both explored. Similarly, the reaction of some other world leaders to the 1984 election result is considered, alongside how Reagan has been cited and utilised by his successors in American politics. The chapter identifies the importance of Reagan to the Republican Party as its ‘party elder’ and how the Democrats responded to the popularity of the ‘Gipper’.
