Shear layer instability is a fascinating and fundamental phenomenon in fluid dynamics that occurs at where shear is strong, especially at the inflection points. If viscosity is taken into account and the no-slip condition is accepted, it easily forms a shear layer because the velocity of the flow decays from the mean flow velocity to zero at the wall boundary.
