摘要

Here we demonstrate that employing the controlled motion of a highly maneuverable swimming micro-robot (called Quadroar) enables a highly-efficient mixing in viscous environment, specifically in the Stokes regime of a Newtonian fluid. Detailed description of the design, modeling, and experimental realization of such versatile swimming micro-robots are discussed. The work presented here provides a roadmap toward realizing a controlled flock of robotic micro-mixers capable of inducing targeted chaotic mixing in viscous fluid environments.
