Opportunities of Data Driven Medicine: Collection, Transfer, and Processing of Vital Data in Outpatient Care
摘要
Data driven medicine can help to relieve physicians and medical personnel while maintaining or even improving the quality of medical care. An example in this context is self-measuring of medical vital signs by patients at home and the data transfer and processing for the physician to be a foundation of diagnoses. This procedure avoids unnecessary appointments in the practice and offers a better monitoring of the patients condition since the continuous measurement can early detect deviations so that therapies can be adapted in time. The article comprises a comprehensive model for such a process and highlights all the aspects from vital sign acquisition via transfer and data processing to doctor’s access. Additionally this approach was successfully carried out in a study in Germany.
