Innovation and Design Model in Marine Decarbonization Activities

摘要

Although there is no exact numerical data about electric marine vehicles in the world, it is observed that the trend continues. According to some sources, there are about 2000 electric vessels worldwide as of 2020, the value of this vessel market is estimated at $ 2.6 billion, and it is expected to reach $ 15.6 billion by 2027 with an annual growth rate of 25.2%. In this study, which aims to present the current analyzes and make new design boat models, there are two basic approaches as quantitative (market reviews and new boat design) and qualitative (computation) methods. Additionally, in this study’s target, the place of this boat design in sectoral application was examined and electric boat design (14 m long; 60 kW) was also examined. In this study, 14.95 m long, approximately 0.02 drag coefficient, approximately 78 m2 total wet surface area, 16 knots (8.23 m/s) speed, 3 h cruising time for this boat, its power is 58 kW and its battery capacity is approximately 174 kWh and each battery’s capacity is 4 kWh, and the total number of batteries is calculated as approximately 42. Furthermore, it was requested to introduce new terminology by the naming of the designed boat.
