Usability and Effectiveness of a Developed IoT-Based Smart Beverage Dispenser

摘要

PET packaging accounted for 44.7% of single-serve beverage packaging and 12% of solid waste globally in 2021. In the Philippines, to regulate plastic bags and other single-use plastics, a few towns and provinces have implemented legislation to support SDG 12, responsible consumption and production. In this era of smart technologies, one remarkable application that has gained substantial attention is the IoT-based Smart Beverage Dispenser. This paper explores this novel technology to evaluate its usability and effectiveness in redefining the beverage consumption experience. Usability testing, user surveys, and performance evaluations are all included in the methodology to give readers a comprehensive picture of the operation of the application software and the machine. After extensive testing and study of usability, the system was discovered to demonstrate a high degree of usability. The system’s user-friendly interface design, transparent feedback mechanisms, and simple controls and signals made this excellent usability possible.
