Woodwind Instrument Group
摘要
One of the other major instrument groups consists of the woodwinds. This is a very diverse family, whose geometric features vary considerably over the whole spectrum. Sources include open holes, single and double reeds. The bodies are usually either purely cylindrical, perhaps with a bell, to purely conical, and the body materials range from wood to plastic to brass. In this chapter, we investigate how these differences lead to a diversity of sounds, making the woodwinds adequate for most genres of music. Applications of woodwind instruments in musical genres are discussed.
