Engineering Ethics Education in China I: History, Policies, and Resources

This chapter provides an overview of the trajectories, resources, and practices of engineering ethics education in China. We begin by recounting the historical background of engineering ethics in China, situating this enterprise both within China’s political culture and international trends that have impacted the education of Chinese engineers. We then examine organized scholarly efforts in developing educational resources (for example, textbooks) and pedagogical support that sought to enable faculty members to teach engineering ethics. Next, the chapter reflects on the challenges facing the engineering ethics community and previews emerging initiatives that aim to enhance young engineers’ engagement with ethical thinking in China. 摘要：本章概述中国工程伦理教育的发展历程、相关资源和教学实践。首先，在双重语境下回顾了工程伦理在中国发展的历史背景——一是中国政治文化，二是影响中国工程师培养的国际趋势；随后，考察了近年来中国在工程伦理教学资源（教材等）建设和师资培训方面的工作。作为总结，本章梳理了工程伦理学术共同体所面临的重要挑战并简要介绍工程伦理教育的新动向。
