摘要

Holonic reference architectures are used to define the classes of holons in a holonic system. This paper proposes principles for the design of holonic systems that implement holonic reference architectures. The following holonic system design principles are identified: Specialisation vs Generalisation; Mirror the World of Interest; Self-Similarity; and Complexity of Interaction. Application of the holonic system design principles is demonstrated by partitioning a physical system according to a holonic reference architecture, namely: a fruit treatment facility according to the Activity-Resource-Type-Instance (ARTI) architecture. The ARTI-based holonic architecture is designed with the aim of supporting coordination and information management in fruit treatment facilities.
