Integrated Energy Systems
摘要
The currently available systems for practical applications are mainly single-input, single-output systems where the majority of energy is either unused or wasted. In order to achieve sustainability, source utilization needs to be maximized. From this aspect, integrated energy systems offer potential solutions to maximize source utilization in order to exploit the excess or wasted energy to generate useful output in an integrated fashion. This chapter mainly presents integrated energy systems, applications, and technical dimensions. Ten case studies with renewable integrated energy systems for the generation of multiple useful outputs, including desalination, are extensively analyzed from energy and exergy points of views. How integrated energy systems maximize the benefits and minimize the waste is also discussed with state-of-the-art examples.
