Power Generation
摘要
Societies used human work, animal work, water flow, and wind flow as the main power source, in the past. After the industrial revolution, power generation methods were replaced by fossil fuel–driven power generation cycles. This chapter concerns about the methods of power generation, especially from renewable sources. From the historical developments to the current status are presented with details including specific energy charts and maps. The evaluation methods of power generation systems driven by different sources are discussed especially for renewables. Some case studies are developed and analyzed in order to form an understanding of how different renewable sources are effectively utilized.
