The New Way

The New Way is exemplified by two specific, and yet very different, enterprises, both of which have had a major impact on making a future lunar economy possible. Neither of them is a government entity. They have both played their part in making lunar activity more affordable and available for private access. They have both made possible orders-of-magnitude reductions in the costs of getting to, and operating on, the Moon. The two enterprises are Elon Musk’s SpaceX (SpaceX, 2023) and the Google Lunar XPRIZE (GLXP, 2015). The what? Stay with me and an explanation follows. Let’s look at the achievements and commonalities of approach between them.
