Providing Characteristics of Metacognition in Mathematical Modelling Activities
摘要
The research we refer to is grounded on a theoretical framework regarding metacognition and mathematical modelling and on an empirical research with students of a Mathematics Degree. The methodological approach is aligned with qualitative research. The analysis we carried out leads us to characterize and code six groups relating to usage of metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive strategies in mathematical modelling: decision-making, intentional reflection, reflective judgement, social experience, mathematical coherence and systemic thinking.
