Teaching and Learning of Education for Sustainable Development Through Modelling Activities with an Integrative Teaching Approach
摘要
Sustainability has become the predominant topic in many areas of politics and is becoming increasingly important in social life. In this context, schools also play a relevant role in the process of integrating the education of sustainable development (ESD). In this contribution, we show that mathematical modelling (MM) activities are suitable for promoting ESD. Furthermore, a new developed ESD-modelling seminar for pre-service mathematics teachers is presented and a concrete best-practice example for secondary school is described, which connects ESD and modelling in an integrative way. The extension of the modelling cycle due to the SDG dimensions is then introduced and finally reflected theoretically regarding its importance for using it in ESD-modelling context in school and in particular in teacher education.
