New Perspectives on Socio-environmental Transformations in Past Societies

In this introduction to the volume, we highlight the importance of transformation research from an archaeological and palaeoenvironmental perspective, including definitions pertinent to transformations as complex phenomena. Following a consideration of integrative archaeology as a means to disentangle socio-environmental transformation processes through interdisciplinary research, we provide an overview of the chapters in this volume.
