摘要

A regenerative industrial ecosystemEcosystem approach offers many advantages. This approach leads to sustainabilitySustainability and promotes the use of the latest technologiesTechnology in managing pollutants and waste. Many acts have been passed, and environmental lawsEnvironmental law promulgated in India during the last few years. The legal frameworkFramework on pollution and waste managementManagement now available in India has adequate provisions. The regulatory frameworkFramework evolved in the past few years, mainly through state pollution control boards, that is described in this chapter could play a catalytic role in putting regenerative industrial ecosystemsEcosystem in place, particularly in industrial clusters and industrial estates. A case study of the Nanjangud industrial area is presented, where industries generate 897,210 metric tons of waste residuals annually, of which 99.5% are recovered for reuse or recycling, with 81% reused within the generating facilities. The concept of a three-step frameworkFramework for introducing regenerative ecosystemsEcosystem is suggested.
