Conclusions
摘要
Chapter 10 presents the conclusions resulting from the book’s chapters and discusses their future applications in academia and practice. The findings of the book enrich the literature about minority representation in general and minorities with several intersectional identities in particular. First, Arab Palestinian legislators represent their Arab voters by paying policy attention to the identity of being Arabs within Israel. Second, the findings showed that even though there were very few Arab Palestinian female legislators, they did manage to represent gender issues. Third, the context of a country matters in the ability of minority legislators to represent their minority voters. Fourth, the periodic analysis of the 70 years indicates a distinct variance in the policy attention that Arab Palestinian legislators pay to their different identifies based on their religion. Future studies should use the intersectional representation index with the Comparative Agenda Project procedures in order to study how legislators with intersectional identities represent their voters in other countries. These studies should consider using these tools to analyze discussions in committee meetings as well.
