Aortic Segmentations and Their Possible Clinical Benefits
摘要
Computed tomography angiography (CTA) studies of the thoracic and abdominal aorta are very common in the routine clinical practice. Aortic diseases often require individualized diagnostics and very specialized physicians performing elaborate procedures. The vessel also serves as a “transport highway” for catheter-based treatment options and implants in many different procedures. Segmentations of the aorta and its vascular tree might have the potential of enhancing clinical workflows and results. Manual segmentation is a very time-consuming process, therefore automated solutions are urgently needed.
