The Digital Ecosystem in a Public Transport Company

The article presents the concept of building a digital enterprise ecosystem. The definition of the ecosystem was formulated, its attributes, and examples of application solutions were indicated. The main part of the article is a discussion of the results of a research project that was carried out in a municipal transport company. The aim of the project was to develop a digital ecosystem model. This ecosystem was built on the basis of standard IT systems supporting finance, transport and fleet management. The ecosystem project includes: building an integration platform in the operational area (automation of the process of exchanging data, messages and documents between the company’s autonomous systems) and in the analytical area (data consolidation for the purpose of conducting multi-criteria economic analyses). The article presents the conclusions of the conducted scientific experiment. The experiment consisted in building a model of ecosystem in public transport company using the technology of virtual application servers and BizTalk server.
