摘要

A significant proportion of American workers grapple with both insufficient sleep and workplace violence. This book chapter delves into the associations between inadequate sleep and workplace violence and the profound impact they have on the lives of American employees. Drawing on empirical studies and observations across various industries, including healthcare systems and correctional facilities, the chapter highlights the economic, emotional, and interpersonal challenges faced by individuals experiencing this dual burden. The chapter also examines the positive influence of organizational support on the association between sleep disturbances and aggression. The organizational environment is shown to play a pivotal role in shaping the dynamics between sleep and aggression, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions.
