Role of Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things in Neurodegenerative Diseases
摘要
Neurodegenerative disorders like ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s pose challenges to healthcare systems. Their intricate nature results from genetics, environment, and lifestyle. Despite increased understanding, effective treatments remain elusive. Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) offer new avenues for diagnosis and therapy. This chapter explores AI and IoT applications in neurodegenerative disorders, focusing on diagnosis. AI can analyze extensive datasets encompassing neuroimaging, genetics, and clinical information, enabling more accurate and rapid diagnoses through machine and deep learning. These tools also facilitate early detection and intervention, transforming healthcare and advancing precision medicine. Addressing technical, ethical, and regulatory issues is essential for responsible AI and IoT integration into neurodegenerative disease research and practice. Overall, AI and IoT have significant potential to revolutionize detection, monitoring, and treatment in this field.
