In recent years, older people are increasingly diagnosed with neurodegenerative disorders. Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms can aid in early detection and accurate diagnosis of these diseases, enabling timely interventions and personalized treatment plans. These algorithms also predict disease progression and prognosis, providing valuable insights into disease trajectories and clinical decision-making. AI-powered image processing techniques detect subtle structural and functional changes in the brain, aiding in the identification of disease-specific biomarkers. These biomarkers facilitate early intervention and provide objective measures of treatment efficacy, essential for clinical trials and drug development. However, challenges remain in applying AI to neurodegenerative diseases, such as data privacy, security, and integrating AI tools into routine clinical practice. AI has immense potential to transform our understanding of, detection, and treatment of neurodegenerative illnesses, contributing significantly to the development of effective therapies and improved patient care.
