Aquatic Ecotoxicology and Human Health
摘要
An aquatic ecosystem can act as a hotspot for contaminants in various ways. Contaminants can dissolve in water, deposit into the sediments, and, when available, can be taken up by aquatic organisms, from where they can reach higher in the food chain and reach up to humans through various pathways described in this chapter. To understand the consequences of contaminant exposures, various mathematical models based on mass conservation and fugacity concepts are discussed. Once inside the body, it may cause various health issues discussed in this chapter.
