Time–Frequency Channel Assignment

  • Julio César García-Álvarez

摘要

It is the transmission of information from more than one source, to more than one destination, using the same transmission medium. Multiplexing is a technique that combines several signals in order to be sent through the same transmission medium or channel through a device called multiplexer. The reverse process is called demultiplexing. There are several methods to multiplex signals. In Sect. 6.3 we will explain Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM). Next, Time Division Multiplexing techniques (TDM) are illustrated in section, involving the input of digital communications. Section 6.6 illustrates code division multiplexing techniques, which involve time–frequency. With the inclusion of spatial dimension, wavelength division multiplexing will explain recent channel optimization techniques. In this case, two techniques are used: grouping and compression.
