Conclusion: Sexual Health and Ageing Prostate Cancer Masculinities

This chapter pulls together the key themes of the book we introduced in Chap. 1 and then developed throughout. It focuses on the gendered implications following prostate cancer treatment for men themselves, as well as their partners and professionals within the healthcare system. The chapter also picks up some of the other principal themes of the book: its theoretical contribution to the scholarly debate, and how intersectional analyses contributed to our understanding of plural masculinities in relation to prostate cancer and its treatment. Adding to this, we debate the significance of engaging in analyses of the interrelatedness and triad of prostate cancer men, their partners, and healthcare professionals.
