Self-Control Axis Disorders

In this chapter, we describe psychiatric disorders related to dysregulation of the self-control axis. We introduce the HSHA syndrome or canine ADHD and addictions. The HSHA syndrome is described with several subtypes: hypersensitive, hyper-reactive, or mixed on one hand, and attention deficit on the other. For each disorder, the clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and follow-up are detailed and clinical vignettes enhance the text.
