The Architecture of the French Model of Veterinary Psychiatry

Our model of veterinary psychiatry is a psychopathological model. It is based on data collected from works in the fields of comparative neurophysiology, ethology, psychopharmacology, and psychiatry. In this chapter, we present our reasoning through the course of a consultation. We describe the collection of semiological elements, diagnosis, prognosis, treatments, and their main principles. The elements’ follow-up and termination of medical care are also discussed.
