Circular Economy Principles: Shifting Towards Sustainable Prosperity

The emergence of the circular economy concept is a transformative strategy aimed at tackling the urgent issues of resource depletion, environmental degradation, and unsustainable consumer behaviors. The present chapter, entitled “Circular Economy Principles: Shifting Towards Sustainable Prosperity,” delves into the fundamental principles of the circular economy and its capacity to facilitate a shift towards a future characterized by sustainability and prosperity. The chapter commences with a reevaluation of the concept of value creation, placing emphasis on the significance of developing products with attributes such as durability, reparability, and remanufacturability.
