Exercise Interventions for Pain Management in Older Adults
摘要
Pain is a multifaceted, acute or chronic condition that increases with age. In older adults pain is associated with poor outcomes, such as functional loss, falls, hospitalizations, and opioid use disorder. Research demonstrates that exercise reduces pain due to osteoarthritis and other disorders. Adjustments to the exercise prescription and slower progression are often needed, related to the older adult’s pain and underlying conditions. Low impact exercises are often advised.
