Changes and Innovations in Disciplinary and Interdisciplinary Education in STEM: Multiple Perspectives and Approaches

Discipline-based instruction is an important feature of school education. What discipline-based instruction entails is not static but evolves over the years also in recent development of STEM/STEAM education. In this chapter, we provide the background of the joint effort by forty scholars from different disciplines to share various perspectives and approaches in changing and innovating disciplinary and interdisciplinary education in STEM/STEAM. A brief description of the book structure and each chapter is also provided as a general guideline for readers to gain insights from reading this book.
