Comprehensive Assessment Techniques for Terrestrial Ecosystems Under the Context of Global Change

After the earth entered the Anthropocene, human activities have become the most important geological force to the earth's environment. Since the Industrial Revolution, changes in atmospheric composition (CO2, CH4, O3, etc.), caused by human activities have had an important impact on the structure and function of terrestrial ecosystems. To actively carry out ecosystem protection and restoration, improving the carbon sink capacity of terrestrial ecosystems is an important way to cope with climate change and achieve China's double carbon goal. With different emphases on ecosystem integrity, authenticity, health, safety, function, service value, carrying capacity and resilience, the establishment and improvement of a comprehensive assessment the terrestrial ecosystem are an important basis for ecosystem restoration and protection. This integrated ecosystem assessment can give a clear roadmap for the public, scientist and managers to conquer the communication issues. These diversified research methods and theoretical frameworks provide a scientific guarantee for the development of social-ecological civilization.
