Principal Component Analysis Method to Analyze Many Factors of Disposable Plastic Product Waste

摘要

Nowadays, much plastic can be used in our life, which leads to serious pollution, such as corroding soil, producing harmful gases, etc. To solve the problem of plastic waste, we need to establish a model to slow down the process of plastic production and improve the way we handle plastic waste. In this paper, we use the principal component analysis method to analyze many factors which affects the maximum levels of single-use or disposable plastic product waste. We give a formula to compute the amount of plastic waste reduction. Using the United States as a example, we compute the reduction of plastic waste in the United States. Moreover, from the perspective of the availability of plastic substitutes, the impact on the lives of citizens and the effectiveness of such policies, it is discussed that plastic waste can be reduced to the level of environmental safety, and the environmental safety levels of other countries are calculated based on Switzerland. We still consider the United States as an example, and compute the reduce of the total amount of plastic waste in the United States per year to reach the level of environmental safety.
