Sensitivity Analysis of Carbon Emissions in the Tunnel Construction

With the national “double carbon” goal, the importance of carbon emissions analysis of tunneling projects has become more and more prominent. To analyze the carbon emissions and its key influencing factors in the construction stage of tunnel construction, this paper established the carbon emissions calculation model in the construction stage of tunnel project by carbon emissions factor method, and calculated the carbon emissions under two construction methods including drill and blast method and TBM method in the construction, and conducted sensitivity analysis on the influencing factors of carbon emissions in each stage, and further provided the corresponding emissions reduction measures. The results found that the carbon emissions intensity of the drill and blast method is 24.393 tCO2eq/m, mainly concentrated in the material production stage. The emissions of the TBM method is 14.972 tCO2eq/m, mainly concentrated in the construction stage. During the construction process of drill and blast method, the production of cement has the most significant impact on carbon emissions. To reduce the carbon emissions, fuel substitution and clinker reduction can be considered. Electricity has the most significant impact on carbon emissions during the construction of TBM method. The power generation structure should be adjusted and new energy generation should be actively adopted to reduce carbon emissions.
