Study on the Adsorption and Purification Effect of Foam Glass on Real Initial Road Runoff

摘要

Foam glass is an inorganic, non-metallic, porous material made from waste glass that has good water purification potential. Using foam glass as a water purification filler, real initial road runoff was collected and indoor static adsorption experiments were conducted to study the adsorption effects of foam glass on ammonia nitrogen (NH3-N), dissolved phosphorus (DP) and heavy metal Pb. The results showed that: ① Under undiluted conditions, the removal rates of NH3-N, DP, and Pb in the initial road runoff through foam glass were 29.52, 49.87, and 93.3% respectively; ② After dilution with ultrapure water, the removal rate of foam glass for NH3-N and DP was significantly improved, while the removal rate of Pb is less affected; ③ The adsorption mode of foam glass for NH3-N, DP, and the heavy metal Pb is monomolecular layer adsorption, which can be described by the Langmuir model, and the theoretical saturated adsorption capacity is 21.97 mg/kg, 12.76 mg/kg and 22.13 mg/kg, respectively. The adsorption process of NH3-N, DP and Pb can be described by pseudo-second-order kinetic equation, all of which are dominated by chemical adsorption.
