Research Progress in the Preparation of MXene Materials and Their Application in the Detection of Heavy Metal Ions

Heavy metal pollution is becoming increasingly serious and poses great harm. Rapid, trace, accurate, and highly selective detection of heavy metals is currently a hot and difficult research topic. MXene, as a new 2D material, is increasingly widely used in the detection of heavy metal ions. This article summarizes the commonly used methods for preparing MXene materials, such as HF etching, hydrothermal etching, molten salt etching, and electrochemical etching. It also reviews and prospects the research progress of MXene materials in the detection of heavy metal ions such as Pb2+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Ag+.
