This chapter is an overview of the book. It introduces the concept of Solution-Focused Negotiation (SFN) as a conflict resolution tool and a relationship-building instrument. It briefly describes the operative modes of this peacemaking instrument, demonstrates its various applications and sketches the landscape of its effectiveness. This chapter clarifies key concepts in negotiation and conflict studies and provides terminology for the study and implementation of SFN.
