Pd/Cu-katalysierte Kreuzkupplung von Organohaliden mit terminalen Alkinen. Vgl. Cadiot–Chodkiewicz-Kupplung und Castro– Stephens-Reaktion. Die Castro-Stephens-Kupplung verwendet stöchiometrisches Kupfer, während die Sonogashira-Variante katalytisches Palladium und Kupfer verwendet.
