Environmental Education and Health Education: Possibilities for Interdisciplinary Articulations Between Fields of Study and Practice

The aim of this manuscript is to rescue the environmental and health history to articulate the constitution of the fields of study in environmental education and health education. Through a theoretical essay, we argue that despite their different historical origins, environmental education and health education can find interdisciplinary articulations that allow advances in these fields. We propose this analysis based on three historical landmarks: (i) emerging movements after the World War II and during the military dictatorship, (ii) achievements in the period of re-democratization, educational advances, and (iii) post-neoliberal setbacks.
