This chapter provides an overview of CAD/CAM systems used in dentistry, highlighting their applications, advantages, and limitations. CAD/CAM systems enable the fabrication of dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges, and veneers, with remarkable precision and speed. These systems utilize advanced software to digitally design restorations, which are then milled or 3D printed from various dental materials. CAD/CAM technology eliminates the need for traditional impression techniques, allowing for a more comfortable patient experience and reducing chairside time. The use of CAD/CAM systems in dentistry offers several advantages. Firstly, it allows for highly accurate and predictable restoration outcomes, ensuring optimal fit and function.
