Structured Data and Knowledge in Model-Based Engineering

Model-based engineering refers to the applied mathematical methods and tools used in the industry in the design processes. In this chapter we introduce how geometrical, thermal and mechanical models are used and combined in complex systems. These models are implemented in computer platforms. They generate structured data that enable engineers to design future products.
