German-Ukrainian Research and Training Center for Parallel Simulation Technology
摘要
Parallel computing systems offer scientists a new frontier for simulations, but they also demand a high level of expertise and experience from users. Thus, simply granting access to computing resources is insufficient; it necessitates specialized training for personnel. Similarly, when integrating a computing center into a university’s educational program, there is a need for new courses, workshops, and educational materials. In this paper, we share our insights into the field of parallel simulation and discuss our vision for the integration of modern computing resources into both scientific research and university activities. We also address the challenges and anticipated issues in this endeavor. Furthermore, we introduce a collaborative scientific project involving Ukrainian and German academic partners, with the aim of enhancing the accessibility, usability, and organizational structure of parallel computing resources. This project centers on the multidisciplinary field of Parallel Simulation Technology (ParSimTech) and strives to establish a ParSimTech center for research and training in Ukraine.
