Association of Obesity and Thromboembolic Disease

Venous thromboembolism is a prevalent issue affecting the lungs and causing significant morbidity and mortality. A complex interplay of genetic and acquired factors has been implicated in the development of thrombosis. In this chapter, we discuss the effect of obesity on pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of venous thromboembolism.
