This chapters narrates the encounter between Fibonacci and Emperor Federico II. This encounter, and in particular the correspondence between Fibonacci and the mathematicians at the court of Federico II, played a central role in the continuing mathematical discoveries of Fibonacci and it is probably one of the most important encounters between Arab and European mathematics, an encounter mediated through the court of Federico II.
