The Liber Abaci
摘要
This chapter is devoted to a more in depth analysis of the first masterpiece of Fibonacci, his Liber Abaci, that he first completed in 1202. The chapter contains several excerpts from the book, in order to give the reader an idea of the language and method used by Fibonacci. The chapter illustrates that the original intent of Fibonacci was to write a book that would directly speak to the merchants, and not necessarily to the mathematicians. The chapter also contains an appendix on various aspects of the Fibonacci sequence, including a discussion of the golden ratio and of continued fractions.
