This chapter details the navigation that led Fibonacci from Pisa to Bugia. In this chapter, which is completely fictional, Fibonacci visits several towns on the Italian Tyrrhenian coast, and meets an Arab merchant who will play a further role during the time that Fibonacci will spend in Bugia.
