Elimination of Pain by Enhancing Body Posture in Schoolgirls During Physical and Sports Education Lessons
摘要
The prevalence of incorrect body posture among schoolgirls, often a symptom of a dysfunctional movement system, commonly leads to pain. This pilot program aimed to enhance their overall postural health, with a focus on improving body posture and reducing neck pain. The study consisted of Σn = 30 prepubescent schoolgirls (n = 15 in the experimental group (EG), with an average age of 15.3 ± 0.9 years; and n = 15 in the control group, (CG), with an average age of 15.2 ± 0.7 years). The program included selected health-oriented exercises as part of physical education and sports education, using the Acral Coactivation Therapy (ACT) method. Standardized methods were used to assess somatometry, body posture, and pain, and the data was analyzed using mathematical and statistical techniques. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s overall body posture and pain reduction compared to the control group, confirming the ACT method’s effectiveness in Physical & sports education an additional finding was a reduction in weight in the experimental group compared to an upward trend in the control group, with a significant difference. The prevention of this situation in EG may be in a higher number of Physical & sports education lessons in school and a change in the content of education.
