This is why is crucial that the patient is informed before the procedure. The most frequent complications are infections, nerve and vessel damage, allergic reactions, local pain, and skin and soft tissue dystrophy. When corticosteroids are used, they may produce tendon and cartilage degeneration. Informed consent is mandatory prior musculoskeletal injections, at least in a verbal way.
